The team from The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, comprising Business School undergraduate students Eee Suen Sheng, Ho Heng Kee, Teoh Teik Li and Chong Jia Ying, won third place in the final round of the CIMB Online Trading Competition this year.

The Way Forward With CIMB Trading Competition is a trading competition to provide university students with the experience of buying and selling stocks in a fully simulated and virtual environment of the Malaysian stock market. The competition was first introduced by the CIMB Group, a banking group in Malaysia with a significant presence in the Southeast Asian Region, last year. This competition is aimed at providing a holistic and structured learning programme in trading and investment for tertiary students.

Eighty-three teams from four countries took part in the competition and only five teams with the highest total credit participated in the final round. The team from Nottingham 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Business School (NUBS) won a cash prize of RM4,000. This is the second consecutive year that the NUBS undergraduates have been successful in being in the top three spots of this competition.

The competition took place from 26 to 29 October, where participating teams were given a RM500,000 'fund' as initial capital and instructed to choose the best investment strategy to maximise the value of the fund.
