Wei Xiang passed his PhD viva subject to minor changes

The school is proud to announce that Wei Xiang has successfully passed his PhD viva subject to minor changes. The viva, held on the 16th of January 2024, was examined by Prof. Ir. Dr. Raphael C.-W. Phan (external examiner) and Dr. Tomas Maul (internal examiner), and was chaired by Dr. Iman Liao. Many congratulations to Wei Xiang, who successfully defended his thesis entitled “Diabetic Retinopathy Image Classification with Quantitative Saliency-oriented Visual Explanation and SLIC-G Image Preprocessing Methods”. Wei Xiang was supervised by Dr. ZhiYuan Chen (as primary supervisor) and Dr. Amr Ahmed and Dr. Mohammad Aazam (as co-supervisors).
