We are seeking for suitably qualified candidates to apply for Cleaner position in Estate Department, at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of academic blocks, offices, and common areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing.
- Responsible for floor care, performing various surface tasks, including spot cleaning carpets of all office areas, seminar rooms and lecture theatres.
- Clean glass surfaces, walls, doors, windows, and partitions.
- Maintain tidiness and orderliness in workspaces and public areas, checking locks and windows as part of end-of-day routine.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness in toilets and pantries, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Maintain and organise cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure they are used and stored safely.
- Perform and document regular inspections and cleaning activities. Submit daily task logs.
- Liaise with the line manager to monitor cleaning inventory levels and submit requests for replenishment.
- Report damage, faults, or maintenance issues encountered during cleaning routines.
- Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process.
- Building cleaners check air conditioning systems and notify the appropriate persons in case of malfunctions or problems.
- Follow safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures in all cleaning operations.
- Support event setups by ensuring assigned areas are prepped and cleaned before and after functions.
- Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement in cleaning effectiveness or frequency.
- Lift, move, and handle equipment or items up to 15kg. Must be able to bend, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Adapt to last-minute changes in task assignments and respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the manager in support of departmental operations.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating pest control visits, ensuring access to affected areas.
- Liaise with internal departments or stakeholders to coordinate service facilities such as water dispensers, sanitary bins, and pest control, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of Secondary School / O-Level qualification.
- Strong attention to detail in performing cleaning tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Good understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to operate and handle heavy equipment and cleaning machinery safely.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a cleaner.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both clearly and courteously.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude towards work, management, and supervisors.
