Dr Show Pau Loke, an academic at 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia Campus's Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, won the silver medal at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA) on 9 October at Stadium Tertutup Kompleks Sukan Negeri Gong Badak, Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.

The award was presented to him by Higher Education Ministry director-general YBhg Datin Paduka Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir.

The conference is a biannual program organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia together with its partner institution since 2001. PECIPTA aims to showcase innovative products and services from institutions of higher learning.

Dr Show is an Associate Professor at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ and holds a PhD in bioprocess engineering. His research is specifically in bioseparation engineering, which deals with the scientific and engineering principles involved in large-scale separation and purification of biological products.

He has published more than 70 research journal papers, several book chapters and presented more than 20 research papers at international conferences. He has been the primary researcher for 15 externally funded projects, and a reviewer for more than 50 peer-reviewed journals.
Currently, he is the main supervisor for five PhD students. In addition to all his outstanding achievements, he was also invited to serve as an editorial board member for a well-known Elsevier journal, called the Biochemical Engineering Journal.

In October last year, Dr Show won the Young Chemical Engineer in 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Award from The Institution of Chemical Engineers’ (IChemE) during IChemE’s tenth anniversary celebration held in Kuala Lumpur.

Prior to this, he also won the Platinum 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Award in 2013, 2014 and 2015 from the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham’s 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Division and the Gold 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Award in 2016 from the Faculty of Engineering at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@.
