Sheena Baharudin, Assistant Professor at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia’s School of English (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), will be one of the speakers at the ‘Let’s Talk About Literature’ Facebook Live event this Saturday, 13 June 2020 from 8pm to 10pm.

Organised by Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur, this evening of poetry and artist talk also features Syrian poet Mwaffaq Al-Hajjar and French comedian Gregory Henno. The three artists will talk about literature, what it means to them, their methods and topics.

Sheena, who teaches English literary studies and creative writing, is the writer of two collections of poetry in both English and Bahasa Malaysia - Rhymes for Mending Hearts and All the Bodies We’ve Embraced. She has participated in many art events including Georgetown Literary Festival and London's National Poetry Library. Her works have been translated into Spanish and French, and featured in a number of local and international anthologies.

“As a writer and performance artist, I thrive on dialogues and collaborations. The pandemic has, in one way or another, dramatically shifted the creative process for many of us. How does one continue to express and create in social isolation? This is a question I look forward to exploring not only with Mwaffaq and Gregory, but with others as well, ” Sheena said.
