On 5th December 2024, the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) proudly celebrated its 8th UNM Resume Competition. 

Held in the Student Lounge, Block H1, and organised by the UNM Careers Advisory Services (CAS), the competition focused on enhancing students’ employability skills while providing opportunities to gain recognition from industry leaders and potential employers.

The event commenced with a welcome speech by UNM’s Provost and CEO, Prof. David FitzPatrick. This was followed by a judges’ forum session and the prize-giving ceremony, where winners received over RM4,000 in cash prizes. After the awards ceremony, participants had the unique opportunity to have their resumes speed-reviewed by the judges, gaining valuable insights into creating outstanding resumes. This year’s distinguished guests included Professor David FitzPatrick, Director of Student Experience Mavis Tsang, and Head of Career Advisory Services Alicia Ch’ng.

Representatives from key employers were also in attendance, including Mayuri Ghosh (Talent Acquisition Manager - ASEAN), Lalitha Velayutham (HRBP Supply Chain - ASEAN), and Lim Siah Yen from Avery Dennison Materials Sdn Bhd; Christabel Loni Jiram (Senior Manager - Industry Talent Development) and Mohinder Sangar (Executive - Strategic Venture) from Bioeconomy Corporation; Lily Hasmiza Binti Shuhaimi (Head of Group Resourcing Centre, Group Talent Readiness & Deployment, Group Human Capital) and Mohd Naufal Bin Abdul Kadir (Resourcing Specialist) from Maybank; and Santharam (Shaun) (Group Talent Acquisition) and Lee Hsiao Leng (Assistant Vice President, Talent Acquisition) from SD Guthrie Berhad.

Participants had from 7th to 26th October 2024 to submit their resumes, resulting in an impressive 217 submissions. To further support participants, CAS organised the Resume Competition Giveaway, utilising the AI-powered “Resume Worded” tool to help students refine their resumes.
