Partnership Between UNM, Malaysian, and Japanese High Schools Offers Educational Benefits and Scholarships
Petaling Jaya, 2 April 2024 – The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) is proud to announce its recent effort to bolster educational exchange and collaboration through two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), underscoring UNM's dedication to enhancing the quality of higher education pathways and nurturing future-ready graduates.
“This partnership programme with schools aims to foster a closer relationship between the university and our future students whilst also providing the partner school with a list of benefits including workshops for the professional development of teachers through our School of Education. We are engaging with students at a pivotal stage, nurturing their curiosity and building a foundation for their academic journey and careers upon graduation,” stated Jagdish Singh Malhi, the Director of Student Recruitment & Marketing at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia. “At UNM, we want to nurture a generation of learners who are not just academically proficient, but holistically prepared to innovate for the future”, he continued.
The first MoU was signed with 30 Malaysian high schools, with the collaboration providing each school with three scholarship seats. Each scholarship will cover 50% of their first year’s tuition fees, offering selected students a greater opportunity to pursue a high quality British tertiary education in Malaysia.

Commenting on the collaboration with UNM, Iain Sallis Regional Managing Director of International Schools Partnership Malaysia shared, “We are delighted to be part of this partnership with UNM. As a group of schools in Malaysia (Tenby Schools, Asia Pacific Schools and Straits International Schools) and a wider network worldwide, the International Schools Partnership (ISP) aligns with UNM in its desire to nurture curiosity and confidence in all learners to set them up for future success.”
On the other hand, a separate MoU was signed with three Japanese high schools, with the 2-year partnership targeting students from grades 10 to 12 following the national curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). To provide a holistic higher education learning experience, UNM will be supporting the students with comprehensive support through workshops, higher education seminars, one-on-one counselling sessions, and international events.
