The new system has been up and running since yesterday (16 April), and an upgraded NUsearch is also ready to be used.
Some new features with the migration include:
1)Self service machine
You no longer require a PIN to use the self service machine. You just need to scan your 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ ID card to log in and borrow books.
2)NUsearch new features
- · Single sign in – once you login to NUsearch with your 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ IT account, there is no need to sign in again to view eResources.
- Book requests made easier – now you can place a request by book title and the system will choose the quickest available copy for you. You no longer need to select an individual copy to request.
- Online room bookings – you can now use NUsearch to make online bookings for all bookable rooms in the Library and Learning@The Core.
- New interlibrary loans request process – our new form allows you to check NUsearch before making a request, meaning that if we do not have what you want in the library, you will be directed straight to the form.
- · New Journals A-Z search – a more user-friendly Journals A-Z search replaces the old Find E-journals search.
Currently, we still have few teething problems post Go-Live which we are working together with our UK counterparts to resolve.
We will continue to communicate further updates on our webpage as well as through Twitter.
