Where you will learn

Malaysia Campus

Semenyih Campus is 48km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and just 45 minutes’ drive from the famous city centre with its iconic Petronas Twin Towers. On arrival, you are immersed in the green jungle backdrop that Malaysia provides with wildlife, sunshine and campus lake.

The campus is home to our business, education, science and engineering schools, which sit alongside a sports centre, library and student accommodation. The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ has everything a modern day student could wish for with the added bonus of being located in central Asia allowing you to travel further afield in your free time.

Public transport is plentiful with free shuttle services operating on some routes. Taxi/Grab services in Malaysia are very reasonable and used widely by the student community.

Careers

The programme serves to prepare graduates for the career path of data science. Based on the selection of modules in the programme, graduates and enter specialized fields in data science.

The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ has an established Careers Advisory Service (CAS) that provide students with essential resources and guidance for career choices and offer many opportunities to develop the skills needed to plan and manage your future. Our Careers Advisory Service will work with you to improve and maximise your employability skills. As well as providing essential resources and guidance they will also assist you with job/course applications, facilitate searches for appropriate work experience placements and connect you to a wide range of prospective employers or training opportunities.

It is foreseeable that future organizations, private or government, will require analytics to identify trends and patterns in the behaviour of the public. For the tertiary sector, the identification of these trends is crucial when making decisions on the launching of new products and services, as well as when using risk management to minimize loses.

For the healthcare industry, analytics allow for a more accurate, faster and cheaper diagnosis using artificial intelligence, for example, medical prescriptions can be generated for medicine collection. For the secondary sector, the efficiency of the systems in the manufacturing industry can also be maximized through the use of data science to identify wastage. For the primary sector, the harvesting of goods such as growing of crops and fishing can be maximised or sustained with the use of analytics. Data science allows for a prediction of the crop yield on a plot of land given the soil content and water level, and also helps in preventing overfishing to ensure sustainable fish stocks.

As for the authorities, the trend in the daily behaviour of the public is important in maximising the efficiency of the public use of infrastructures and enforcing of the laws to prevent both financial and personal crimes. In addition, data science is useful in improving military intelligence gathering capabilities and enhancing the prediction of the occurrence of natural disasters to minimize the impact. In other words, data science touches every aspect of life of everyone, from farmers to merchants to law enforcers.

The world will be run by data analytics, and this programme serves to train future data analysts.
