Academic and researcher of 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia Ir Dr Show Pau Loke received the National Young Scientist Award from Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC)on 13 November 2019.

Ir Dr Show was the first recipient of this award from a private university and this award was presented to young Malaysian scientist. It recognises the significant work and achievements of researchers from higher education institutions or research centres in Malaysia. In addition, to their achievement the researchers should also be below 35 years old.

“It is my greatest honour to receive the Young Scientist Award 2019 and I would like to express appreciation to MESTECC, Malaysia. This award encourages me to remain committed to the field of sustainable bioprocessing engineering and I truly hope that my work on waste-to-wealth is able to promote construction of sustainable society,” Dr Show said.

Prior to this Ir Dr Show Pau Loke, was awarded with the Young Chemical Engineer in 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Award, DaSilva Award 2018 and silver medal at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA)

The Young Chemical Engineer in 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Award was awarded by The Institution of Chemical Engineers’ (IChemE), UK in 2016, after which he went on to win the DaSilva Award 2018 from the Society of Biotechnology, Japan for his research titled Converting wastewater to bioenergy and bio-products using microalgae technology. He was the first Malaysian to have been bestowed this honour.

Moreover in 2017, he won the silver medal at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA).

More recently, he also won the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham’s Vice Chancellor’s Award which was presented to him by UNM Provost and CEO Professor Graham Kendall on 7 November 2019. This award is presented to current staff or students who had made notable endeavours that made a difference to the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@, and within the local community and have exhibited an individual achievement or sustained achievement over a period of time.

“We are very proud to work with award winning academics who are recognised in both local and international awards, not only for the quality of their research but also for their contribution of its impact on society.

I would like to congratulate Pau Loke for his sustained achievements over many years but, in particular, for in his latest achievements in being among an academic from a Malaysian private university to be awarded this honour,” UNM Provost and CEO Professor Graham Kendall said.
