PHIR's academic delivers paper in China Institute of International Studies
Dr Benjamin Barton recently took part in an event hosted in Beijing by the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) on 17 July 2018. The event was entitled: ‘China-EU Relations and Belt and Road Cooperation in the New Era’ and his presentation covered the following topic: ‘Prospects for China-EU BRI Security Cooperation’.
This event helped develop interdisciplinary and cross-cultural analytical frameworks to understand contemporary international and regional issues, the strategic and pragmatic dimensions of China-EU relations and the vision and challenges associated with co-building the Belt and Road Initiative. To this end, the event brought together leading Chinese and European academics, think tankers and government practitioners to contribute their expertise, experience and perspectives in this regard.
