The IDEAS and UNMC Doctoral Fellowship on the Political Economy of Corruption

The Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) and the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham invites applications from outstanding candidates for a fully-funded doctoral fellowship programme at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus (UNMC).
Candidates interested in conducting a detailed study of corruption in Malaysia are invited to apply. Especially welcome are proposals that quantify the costs of corruption; which examine the causes of corruption and which assess the effectiveness of current measures to eradicate corruption. Supervisors will be drawn from 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham faculty and Professor Edmund Terence Gomez will act as an External Advisor to the project.
This award will cover full tuition fees and a monthly stipend of RM2,000.00 for a period of three (3) years, subject to satisfactory annual progress review (in accordance with 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham rules).
Interested candidates should hold a Masters or a good first degree in a relevant field. They must present evidence of having completed a minor dissertation or of having conducted substantial research resulting in publication.
The successful candidate will be registered as a full time doctoral student at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and will also take up a Fellowship at IDEAS. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to IDEAS by writing one policy paper per year and by organising relevant seminars.

- Copies of Academic transcripts
- A sample piece of academic writing up to 5000 words
- Two academic references sent to the above email address directly by your referees from an institutional email account.
- A 2,000 word research proposal that includes a consideration of existing literature.
