The art of Public Speaking
About the module
Module convenor: Nabila Shariff
This module aims to break down public speaking, debate and interviews for beginners and foster a culture of confidence, intellectual discourse and help overcome stage fright.
The students shall undergo training in four sessions packed with tips and tricks and shall be given a chance to practice via class activities in each session. Experts in presentation skills, public speaking, debate, interviews and critical thinking shall train you to think on your feet and out of the box and speak to inspire. You shall understand how several factors interplay in delivering effective presentations, develop solid arguments in a debate and enter every interview room with utmost confidence, ready to take on any question with a smile.
Students are expected to attend all four two-hour sessions and demonstrate their learning via class activities. The module is assessed via an impromptu speech on the last day which brings the contents of the module together and a short reflective essay to exhibit how you shall implement your learning in real life.
