A tri campus event in Singapore for Nottingham alumni
Nottingham alumni in Singapore joined us in April at the Marina Bay Sands Resort for a wonderful evening of networking. The reunion brought together around 40 alumni for a fun evening and to provide information about developments at the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@, including the launch of the Crops for the Future 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ Center (CFFRC) scheduled to open in September 2015.
Professor Nick Miles OBE, Provost and CEO of The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Ningbo China, and Professor Sayed Azam Ali, the Chief Executive Officer of the CFFRC and The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Chair in Global Food Security, co-hosted the event. Professor Miles highlighted the significant milestones the 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ has achieved and the importance the alumni community play in joining in to make greater impacts to society. Professor Miles also expressed his thoughts about how wonderfully the mechanism of education works and how brilliant it would be if more alumni can gain a cross-cultural experience through The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham.
The event highlight was Professor Sayed’s special talk on the CFFRC, which aimed at creating awareness about the initiative and its importance. The atmosphere was filled with joy as alumni came together and enjoyed meeting their classmates after many years. Many alumni expressed their positive impressions on the CFFRC initiative, with some feeling it was great to find out about such remarkable research carried out at The 188体育网址_188体育在线-【唯一授权网站】@ of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC).
The alumni in attendance felt very happy to come together as a great team, and are keen to spread their Nottingham experience far and wide. The event was jointly organized by the Campaign and Alumni Relations Office (CARO) in the United Kingdom and the Alumni and Donor Relations Office (ADRO) in UNMC.
