The International Symposium on Environmental DNA for Conservation and Biomonitoring in Southeast Asia (eDNAConBio) 2025, will gather experts to discuss the latest advancements in environmental DNA (eDNA) technology and its increasing application in biomonitoring and biodiversity conservation. This event will build upon the success of the inaugural symposium, the ISEDCAB 2023, which featured more than 20 key research on biomonitoring using eDNA in marine, aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems across Southeast Asia.
The eDNAConBio 2025 aims to bridge the science-policy gap by fostering dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and conservation practitioners. By highlighting the practical applications of environmental DNA (eDNA) in biodiversity monitoring and ecosystem management, the symposium will demonstrate how scientific advancements can inform and shape effective policies in conservation and sustainability. Key sessions will focus on translating eDNA research into actionable policy recommendations to enhance conservation strategies and promote environmental stewardship in Southeast Asia.
The symposium is held in conjunction with the 10th International Workshop for Mangrove Biodiversity Studies by eDNA Metabarcoding 2025, happening this 21-23 Feb 2025.
